Setting: Human/Troll World Adult AU where Aradia and Sollux share a hive. I guess.

The hive is probably a mess. Neither of them particularly care about tidiness. Aradia's got archaeology books everywhere and maps and pictures and notes on the walls. Sollux's particular flavor of mess is wires and lots of them. Some of them are taped down or hidden under rugs to avoid trips, but most of them aren't. It's a small hivestem block and neither of them mind sharing it. There's one bedroom with one recuperacoon and clothes litter the floor. It's not much, but it's all they need and all they want. It's cozy, there isn't much room for privacy, but there's nothing that they'd ever think of hiding from the other anyway. They like getting in each other's way ever now and then. It's a nice reminder that someone was there who cared, even if they were doing solitary activities a lot of the time.

It is definitely not a good home for a small troll, but unfortunately that's what Aradia and Sollux find sitting on their couch after walking through the door. A troll with horns like Sollux, but much smaller, and an identical yellow gemini sygil painted on his shirt. Apparently he'd wandered into their hive while they were out. Judging by the near empty bag of puffy cheetos in his lap, he'd been hungry. He's calm before they walk in, looking as though he belongs there, but he doesn't. When he sees them he stares, and they stare back. That's when the small troll begins to feel like maybe this random couch he woke up on isn't exactly the best place to hang out.

For his part, Sollux looks very confused. "Okay, am I seeing things?"
